Two members of the CooperBurnett team, Katie Hilsdon and Glen Webb, have begun the new year by being promoted to Senior Associate.

Katie, who is part of the Corporate and Commercial team, works closely with Victoria Sampson and Andrew Hawkins on transactions, as well as advising clients on all aspects of company and commercial matters. She joined us in March 2015 and, the following year, was named Junior Lawyer of the Year by Kent Law Society.

Katie graduated from Oxford University in 2009 with a degree in French and Portuguese, before embarking on a career in law.

In addition to her day-to-day case load, Katie is an integral member of our charity committee, which drives fundraising and community support. Over the past few years, she’s completed the Three Peaks in 24 hours, taken part in a 26 mile ‘Walkathon’ from central London to Gravesend and cycled from London to Paris in 24 hours. In addition, she’s an accomplished marathon runner.

Last year Katie also coordinated our support of the inaugural Walk Tonbridge Festival.

“Katie really deserves this promotion,” says Victoria Sampson, Partner and Head of the Corporate and Commercial team at CooperBurnett. “She works exceptionally hard on behalf of our clients and is a wonderful asset to our team. In addition, she’s always ready to challenge herself for charity.”

Also promoted to Senior Associate is Glen Webb, who joined our Residential Property team three years ago.

He read law at Cambridge University and graduated in 2013 and after finishing his LPC (as top graduating student), before joining a firm in Buckinghamshire. Whilst there he spent time undertaking private client and property work but was drawn to residential property.

In addition to dealing with the general day-to-day activity of transacting residential property, Glen has a particular interest in high value rural property. He enjoys the technical drafting of complex transfer deeds – sales of part or the negotiation of deeds of grant of easements for access or services.

“Since Glen joined us, we have really benefited from his depth of land law knowledge,” says Jennifer Irving, Head of Residential Property at CooperBurnett. “Our clients also appreciate his calm approach and tenacity when it comes to completing a house sale or purchase. He thoroughly deserves this promotion.”
