Trusts

Trusts - Kent, Sussex & Surrey

A trust is a legal arrangement whereby a person (a trustee) holds property as its nominal owner for the benefit of one or more beneficiaries.

The trust will be set up by the settlor, whereby the trustee will have legal title to the asset in question, and the trustee has a fiduciary duty to manage the asset in the best interests of the beneficiary.

There are several types of trusts that can be created, such as life interest trusts, discretionary trusts, bare trusts and various others. You may wish to set up a trust for numerous reasons, some of which include Inheritance Tax planning, asset protection, protection of vulnerable beneficiaries and children, care home fee protection, succession planning, or pension and life policies protection.

Our experienced Private Client team can help you find the most suitable trust for you based on your current situation and can assist with the setup, administration and closing of trusts, the drafting of trust deeds, advising on tax planning and other related matters.
