TWTDLS celebrates its 90th anniversary

Property Litigation Partner, John Spence, current President of the Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge & District Law Society (TWTDLS) and Trainee Solicitor, Imogen Fleur, President of the Kent Junior Lawyers Division, recently joined a small gathering of local lawyers to mark the Society’s 90th anniversary. It was officially established on 29th May 1933.

CooperBurnett Partners Victoria Sampson and Katie Gillam have held the position of President in the past, as did former Partner Jonathan Smithers, who went on to be President of the Law Society of England and Wales. Partner Sarah Strong is a current member of the TWTDLS Council.

John Spence is in his second year as President of the TWTDLS. He has increased the number of training events the organisation runs, as well as strengthening its relationship with the Law Society of England and Wales. John has met Lubna Shuji, current Law Society President at a number of regional events.

“I am really proud to be leading the TWTDLS in its 90th year,” says John Spence. “The legal profession in our area has faced many challenges over those years including, only six years after it was created, a World War - but it has continued to thrive and provide support to its members.”
