Inspiring students at the Kent Law Fair

At last year's Kent Law Fair at the Kent Law School (part of the University of Kent) we met some of the first potential set of students interested in embarking on the University's new MLaw scheme.

While there, Trainee Solicitor Imogen Fleur remembers chatting to student Joshua Hayes. Twelve months later, he's now part of our team at CooperBurnett, while studying at the same time for his MLaw at the University of Kent.

On Thursday 2 November, Imogen returned to the Kent Law Fair, along with Paralegal Joshua, and they spent the day talking about what a career in law looks like and how CooperBurnett supports aspiring lawyers.

“It was an exciting experience to meet the potential next generation of lawyers," says Joshua. "We had many enquiries from students who were interested in the MLaw scheme - which CooperBurnett is proud to have supported from its inception. Imogen and I were very impressed by the overall enthusiasm and questions posed by the students during our time there and are looking forward to attending again next year."

Adds Imogen: "I clearly remember meeting Josh at the Kent Law Fair last year and now, 12 months later, he's a colleague of mine at CooperBurnett (alongside his MLaw studies). It was really inspiring for potential MLaw students to talk to Josh and hear about his experience of the scheme and how he's benefitting from gaining real legal experience with CooperBurnett. It is exciting to see how far he's come in just a year."
