TeamCB colleagues, friends, family and local business associates met at the Old Auction House to celebrate the INCREDIBLE challenge that lies ahead - walking ten marathons in a single day, along an incredible 262 miles of the King Charles III England Coast Path.
The team will be challenging themselves to raise vital funds for local children's bereavement charity Jigsaw South East, which was represented last night by Fundraising Manager, Sally Ross and Charity Director, Zoe Pizzie. Sally told the room that every single day in the UK, 127 children will suffer the bereavement of a parent (seven children in the time we spent together last night). Jigsaw wants to make sure that every local child who goes through this has access to support.
Partner, Victoria Sampson, and Senior Associate (and member of our charity committee) Katie Hilsdon, revealed more about the plans for Saturday, which will involve more people than ever from TeamCB - including team members who are driving walkers to the start of their walk and picking them up 26 miles later.
Victoria gave a special mention to our Head of Accounts, Gareth Warner, who has taken part in every single CB charity challenge to date - completing the Three Peaks in 24 hours, cycling from London to Paris in 24 hours and ultra-marathon Race to the King. On Saturday, he will be joined in the challenge by his daughter Lucy - who has made wonderful badges for our team to wear! Thanks Lucy!
Finally, there wasn't a dry eye in the room when Sally introduced a video featuring Reece, who talked about the support given to him by Jigsaw South East after his father died.
Please help us to raise £1000 per marathon (which will be pound matched by our equity partners) to enable Jigsaw South East to continue to provide such important support to bereaved children: https://www.justgiving.com/page/cooperburnett-llp-coastalchallenge
