Experienced litigator Stuart Merrison joined CooperBurnett as a Senior Associate in March 2026, specialising in Property Litigation and working in the team lead by Partner John Spence.
Stuart qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and, since then, has established a litigation practice in the Civil Courts and First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber). Before joining CooperBurnett, he worked for various firms in London for over 20 years.
Stuart brings a wealth of litigation experience to the Property Litigation department at CooperBurnett, enhancing the offering to clients.
From the outset, Stuart was attracted to the friendly and collaborative character of the firm and was struck by how supportive CooperBurnett is of its local community and charities, saying it’s great to find a community minded firm so ready to give back. When not at work Stuart enjoys keeping fit.
