As a firm, we are proud to have supported this initiative in its inaugural year and feel our investment has certainly paid off, with Joshua now a Solicitor in our Residential Property team.
The M-Law paralegal scheme offers a hybrid approach to training, giving students the opportunity to start accruing practical experience, whilst undertaking the necessary exams to qualify.
Darren Weir, Senior Lecturer at Kent Law School, says: “To hear that news that Joshua – a member of our first cohort of M-Law students - has qualified is really brilliant. It highlights the success of the programme, that we worked hard to create. Kent Law School is grateful to CooperBurnett LLP for continuing to support our QWE [Qualifying Work Experience] Paralegal scheme.”
Joshua says: “I am thrilled to have qualified and I am immensely grateful to CooperBurnett LLP for embracing the M-Law programme and for supporting me from the very beginning, three years ago. I would definitely advocate for the M-Law, as it provides an opportunity to blend the traditional vocational training (LPC) with real world, practicable legal experience. I am pleased to hear that CooperBurnett is taking on another M-Law student this summer and am looking forward to supporting them on their journey.”
Partner, Victoria Sampson, adds: “We are all incredibly proud to be celebrating Joshua’s qualification as a solicitor. He has worked so hard to get to this point and we know he’s going to make a real impact in our Residential Property team. As a firm, we are proud to foster a culture of supporting and training the next generation of lawyers. Well done Joshua!”
