Not having a Will in place will inevitably cause difficulties for your relatives and loved ones on your death, as they navigate Intestacy Rules. But, having a Will in place is not the end of the story. Wills are never one-size-fits-all and they need to be written specifically for that person in mind and be solid enough to stand up to scrutiny.
Senior Associate, Katie Hancock, from our Private Client team, will be holding a talk about how Wills can be challenged and how to make a claim less likely to succeed at The Good Company People HQ in Croft Road, Crowborough, on Monday 24 August, between 12.00pm and 2.00pm.
This will include a half-hour presentation, followed by an opportunity to ask questions around steps to take to prevent, as far as possible, a Will being challenged, either for a lack of capacity or under the Inheritance Act.
This session is aimed at people aged over 65 with capacity, who are looking to get their affairs in order (or are supporting a loved one to do so).
