Should you have any questions regarding commercial property issues, please contact Jonathan Rowe at CooperBurnett Solicitors

Tunbridge Wells town centre has lost a number of offices in the last few years which have been converted, under permitted development rights, to residential development. This has been disruptive for many local businesses and CooperBurnett was among the 20 local offices which were served with an Article 4 Direction on 25 May 2018.

The Article 4 Direction removes permitted development rights that would otherwise make it easier for conversion of our offices to residential development. While, for some, this measure has come too late, the move by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council has been almost universally welcomed by the public at large and even more so by the local business community.
