Head of CooperBurnett’s Corporate team, Victoria Sampson, enjoyed volunteering at The Stag Community Arts Centre in aid of children’s hospice charity

Head of CooperBurnett’s Corporate team, Victoria Sampson, enjoyed volunteering at The Stag Community Arts Centre during half term as part of a children’s storytelling event in aid of children’s hospice charity ellenor.

The event was well attended with lots of children enjoying Halloween arts and crafts, face painting and storytelling. There was also an appearance from ellenor’s mascot, Ellie the elephant.

“It not only provided some fantastic entertainment for children during this half term, but was a great way of raising awareness of the vital support ellenor gives families in their own homes across West Kent,” says Victoria, who is an Ambassador for ellenor.

A highlight of the event was the arrival of members of the pantomime cast at midday, which included Sapphire Elia from Britannia High and Emmerdale, who will be playing the title role in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. During the run of the pantomime, which begins on Friday 1 December, it will be raising funds for ellenor.

“Gill Chadbon [another ellenor Ambassador] and I enjoyed supporting this fun event and were delighted to spread the word about ellenor,” says Victoria. “ellenor is relentless in its commitment to provide 24-hour palliative and end-of-life care to children who desperately need it and would like to help more families – but cannot do this without securing funding.”

Adds Katie Gardner, Area Fundraiser at ellenor: “Our storytelling day was a great way to tell the Sevenoaks community about ellenor and the ways we help children in West Kent who have a life-limiting illnesses. It was also a fantastic opportunity to tell everyone about our relationship with the Sevenoaks panto cast and organisers – they will be raising money for us at every single performance! We also rely on our Ambassadors to promote the charity, so having Victoria and Gill along to The Stag was invaluable.”
